As President Roosevelt said the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on the morning of December 7 1941 was a day that would live in 'Infamy'. Aimed at the Pacific Fleet of the U.S.Navy the attack damaged or destroyed twelve American warships and killed 2403 American servicemen and 68 civilians.
